Meet our Early Stage Researchers: Amir Ansari from University of Valencia

Tell something about yoursamir-ansarielf?

I have a master degree in electrical engineering- communication systems from Shiraz university of Technology, Iran. I have designed some customized hardware platforms using FPGA devices as well as a hardware platform for GPS-based remote positioning. I also have experience of theoretical and practical research in digital watermarking. My master thesis was about restoration of remote sensing hyperspectral images by data fusion techniques. My research interests include image processing, video coding, digital watermarking and hardware design.

Why did you apply to ETN-FPI project?

I think that full parallax imaging is an upward trend both in academia and industry and it will attract even more attention in future. This project fits my research interests and my background can be helpful to fulfill the aims of this project. ETN provides a unique  opportunity for international collaboration with academic and industrial sectors involved in the network.

What kind of expectations do you have for your research project and network training?

I hope to overcome the challenges of this project on schedule and with best possible solutions. Despite the potential hardships of any contemporary research, working on this project will revitalize my research profile and will help me to attain a great insight into full parallax imaging.

Amir Ansari is based in University of Valencia 2016-2019, and his research project “Visualization techniques based on integral imaging ” is linked to Work package 3.
