Tell something about yourself?
I received a Bachalor’s degree in Mathematics (2010), and a Master’s degree in Statistics at the department of Mechanics and Mathematics, Taras Shevchenko National University in Kiev, Ukraine. During this time, I was involved in researching the algorithms for the model of mixture with varying concentrations. I also was employed at Samsung R&D center in Kiev, since 2012 for almost three years. During this time, I researched and implemented algorithms for the ray tracing acceleration structure as well as for non-photorealistic rendering.
Why did you apply to ETN-FPI project?
ETN-FPI project deals with very interesting state-of-the-art topic, namely the rendering of 3D videos. It is also naturally R&D-type of project, which is my favorite. This project is both academic and industry-oriented, which means it must be exciting and serious at the same time. It is also an opportunity to enhance and develop my research and programming skills, as well as to experience very international kind of work.
What kind of expectations do you have for your research project and network training?
I really hope to become a useful specialist that is excited about his job. It would also be very nice to develop something practical and non-trivial.
